“Take Flight”
If you went to the page for “One Way”, you’ll know that my wife joined me for a business trip to NYC in June. It was a really great opportunity for me to learn more about my field, but for both of us to see a place we probably wouldn’t have gone to on our own.
One hurdle for me in all of this was that we were flying there. Not a big deal, except I had never flown up until that point. In my entire 26 years of life leading up to the trip, I had never flown on a plane.
If you know me personally, you know that I have an off the charts fear of heights, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from myself and how I would react to being up in the air. I’ll never forget the feeling of taking off. I like to drive fast (sorry mom), so to feel the acceleration of the plane was amazing! Then once we were up in the air, I couldn’t keep my eyes off the window. I was just so amazed at getting to see the view for myself up in the air looking down at everything. I marveled at the feat of engineering it took to have the plane fly like it does. And on top of that I kept thanking God for creating the beauty of the world we live in, and that I got to view it from such a different perspective. I know flying is commonplace for a lot of people, but I don’t think I will ever stop thinking about how cool it is.
