“One Way”
My wife and I got to go to NYC in June for a business trip with my day job. I was sent to a conference, but during the times before and after, I knew I wanted to get a ton of photos of the city. Being that we live in a one stoplight town.
It seemed like the entire time we were there, the weather just created endless clouds that covered the tops of the skyscrapers. I was frustrated! Firstly, I had never really tried my hand at architecture or city photography, so I was already struggling. Second, a lot of my ideas for photos included having the entire buildings in frame.
I decided to get some cliche shots that I knew I could get regardless of the clouds, and this is one of them. Something not photography related that I struggled with in NYC was feeling distant from God. I feel like the hustle and bustle of big cities draws people away from faith with all of the vice and busy chaos. Looking back at this photo though, I see God, even in photos of a place I felt so distant at. His way is the “One Way”, and even though it may not be very clear (symbolized by the clouds making the tops of the buildings unclear) we should always have faith because He is always working in our lives.
